Marlobobo X Uchu Bourbon BA Cosmic Fusion 2023| B. A. Mead

Haskap and cherry mead aged in bourbon barrels. A collaboration with Uchu Brewing from Hokuto, Japan.

Masahiro from Uchu Brewing visited us in Sande during the Stevnsbær cherry harvest in 2023, and we came up with this blend together while hand-sorting cherries all day.

Haskap, also called honeyberries, resembles elongated blueberries and has a unique flavor of sweet blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blackcurrants. The color and acidity are truly unparalleled!

The fruit is native to northern Japan and has recently been approved for planting in Europe. What better fruit to pair with the Stevnsbær cherries that Masahiro helped us harvest!

Origin of the barrel:
Stagg Jr. and Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels (12 months total maturation)

Honey type:
A complex blend of wildflower honey from Konnerud and Løten, combined with forest honey from Lillesand.

Boreal Blizzard (48%)
Boreal Beauty (30%)
Boreal Beast (22%)
