For this Single Hop IPA, we've chosen the experimental hop variety HBC 630. The hops come from the Hop Breeding Company (HBC), a partnership between John I. Haas and Yakima Chief Ranches, two major American hop growers. HBC strives to develop new hop varieties.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e Before a new hop variety is officially released, select brewers can sample it. The provisional name for such a hop begins with the abbreviation HBC, followed by a number. Once officially released, it will receive its final name.
